Dr Mandikos uses a combination of Diamond and Tungsten Carbide burs arranged broadly into two kits – A crown/veneer/bridge preparation kit, and a composite kit. He also uses specific porcelain polishing systems, a composite polishing system and Soflex Discs or OptiDiscs. These kits with their order codes are shown below:

Image #1 – Exa Intrapol, Code #0501UM-100 (from Bourke Dental Supply - 1800 335 129), Eve Diapol Code# EVE-L26DMF (from Alphabond - 1800 643 477) – use either wheel to create smooth cutting/reshaping of porcelain.

Image #2 – NTI Galactic Gold P1811D (From Gunz) used to create semi-gloss. Last wheel – the high-shine wheel. I can’t tell you the name of this. They last forever and we do not have a record of what we ordered – therefore best to ask your Lab for their preferred high-gloss porcelain polishing wheel.
