Some of these techniques can be performed by the dentist over one or more appointments and may involve the use of blue lights or lasers. Another popular technique is the patient-administered approach called Home Bleaching, whereby the patient applies the whitening gel themselves and the whole process is supervised by the treating dentist.

Tooth whitening is a safe, conservative procedure that can produce stunning results with relatively little effort and financial outlay. A professional course of Home Bleaching takes between 10 and 14 days and will produce more effective and longer lasting results than “over the counter” products. Tooth Whitening is especially effective in patients whose teeth have become stained by smoking or tea and coffee consumption.
