"Filling" is a loose term that refers to the different types of restorations that are directly placed into the tooth, in one visit. Fillings, or better termed, "Dental Restorations" can be made from Composite Resin, Glass Ionomer Cement, or less frequently now, from Silver Amalgam.

At Brisbane Prosthodontics, we believe that a dental restoration should not only fill the gap and replace the missing tooth structure, but it should also "bind the tooth together" to reinforce and strengthen it. That is why we only place fully bonded restorations, and why we primarily restore teeth with composite resin, when a direct restoration is needed.
